Stucco Toscano: This technique was created by Tuscan artists. The characteristics are different from venetian plaster. The Stucco Toscano is known for its rough finish.

| The finished look of venetian plaster can range from smooth to rough and matte to high gloss. This all depends on the look you want to attain. On the left you can see what a raw piece of carrara marble looks like before it is processed and ground.
After the carrara marble is processed and made into a powder form, natural pigments are used to blend together and form the rich colors. These are the various colored pigments used to blend into the marble.
Once the color is made, we are ready to apply it. Several different stainless steel trowels are used to apply the various layers of plaster to the surface.

| The first step is to apply a base coat. This is a special formula consisting of powder marble and lime.
| The second step is to apply the coloring. A mixture of lime, powder marble, pigment, linseed oil and soap. Two coats are applied; however, depending on the type of finish, will depend on the number of applications.

| Here you see another coat brushed on the wall in preparation for the final step.

| The final step is an application of cera dapi (bees wax). This is trowelled on the wall, rendering the wall shiny with extra protection.
